Splitstar padded through the woods, glancing up at the trees. Newleaf had arrived, and with it, the flowers were blooming. Petals spiraled down through the air, almost like snow. But then, that was what the Blossom Woods were named for. Splitstar kept moving forward, stopping only when he had reached his favorite thinking spot. There was a small hill to one side of the forest, and Splitstar had discovered an alcove in the side of it, between two boulders. He sat down inside, welcoming the shade that was provided.

Ivyleaf padded sultreley up to her secrete love, Splitstar. The day was beautiful, espicially with him in it. Her green eyes passeed up and down his muscled pelt. She purred silently to herself and padded over a dry leaf, hoping to get his attention.

Splitstar blinked and looked up, spotting Ivyleaf. "Oh! Hello Iv--" he stood up quickly and hit his head on the roof of the alcove, making his eyes water. Muttering about coordination, he padded out and licked his shoulder self-conciously. "Hello, Ivyleaf." said Splitstar, nodding to her. "What are you doing out here?" he has always enjoyed being with Ivyleaf; she was smart and funny and beautiful.

Ivyleaf began to laugh, but stopped herself. She padded closer to Splitstar and began licking where he had hit his head. "Does it hurt?"she asked quietly. Then, she stepped back embarassed. I was licking him...and he let me!she silently screamed to herself! Ivyleaf looked back at him to answer his question. "I was just out enjoying the beautiful day. And, I saw you and wonderd if you wanted some company."she said, while batting her long eyelashes.

Splitstar closed his eyes for a second while she licked her head and then blinked, slightly embarrassed. His fur turned hot, but he couldn't deny that he had felt a tingle in his paws when she was near. "Yes..." he said, looking around at the forest, "It is a beautiful day. And I would love some company." But what Splitstar had really wanted to say was, "I would love your company." He scolded himself for being so odd and sat down again.

Ivyleaf layed down beside him and looked out. She turned to him, slightly embarassed. I might as well do it now..she thought. now or never. Ivyleaf turned to him. "Splitstar, I need to tell you something.."she said nervousley. "I...I..Love you Splitstar. And, I have for a long time."

Splitstar blinked, not understanding what she had said for a moment. Then a warm feeling washed over him, making him feel safe and secure. Splitstar closed his eyes for a moment and opened them again, just to make sure it was really happening. "Ivyleaf...I love you too. And I also have for a while. I was just...afraid to tell you." Splitstar felt as though a great weight had been lifted up, and he could live without wondering when he'd get to tell Ivyleaf that he loved her. "I would be honored...if you would be my mate, Ivyleaf."

Ivyleaf purred. "I thought you ould never ask." She began walking circles around Splitstar lifting her tail and letting her "Heat"pumes come out and entwine him. She walked away twards a more shelterd place...
