Two pairs of eyes gleamed in the shadows, hidden by the dark covering. Only the soft sound of pebbles turning and leaves twirling in the wind could be heard. The small beat of two hearts beated in a slow, rythmitic rythmn. A strange scent came from the shadows, KITTYPETS!

Splitstar stopped in his tracks and scented the air. As he feared, something was not right. And if his nose was correct, Lily and Lilac were hiding in the bushes near the camp. Furiously, he stalked over and hissed into the bushes, "Come out right now unless you want your fur ripped off by FireClan...do you understand me?" Splitstar was outraged by the lack of disrespect these cats had shown to him and to FireClan borders. A Clan camp was almost a sacred place, where other cats simply didn't intrude unless it was important. And the leader was sure that these kittypets had nothing important to say to him.

Lilac just stared at him disdainfully. "Why? This is the most cleanest place in this filthy." Lily cut her sister off, "Who cares? We're going to stay here where it is clean and cool." Her wide blue eyes widened and she stared at Splistar with a small smile. Lilac rolled her eyes, it would never work on the clan cats! "Stop it." She hissed at her sister her gaze fixed on Splistar.

Splitstar twitched, rage showing on his face. There had been enough stress lately, with his new kits and the sickness. The last thing he needed were two kittypets barging in and trying to stay. "Listen well. You two are CROWFOOD in the forest. More aggressive warriors would have ripped you two to pieces by now. You may think you can act like warriors, but you will never be one." He stepped forward, snarling menacingly. "Get out of my camp or I swear by StarClan I will force you out."

Lilac blinked at Splitstar and tilted her head. "Why so aggresive?" she meowed and her sister did the same. They both blinked at Splitstar with a questioning gaze in there eyes and in the way they tilted their heads. "Why?"

"Argh, don't make yourselves sound so innocent!" he exclaimed, frustrated. "You don't understand, do you? The Clans have their own territories, and ever since we can remember, the Clans have guarded their territory well." Splitstar sighed, glancing at the two she-cats. "Being a warrior is much tougher than you could imagine. Prey can drop in numbers at any time, and right now we have a sickness in our camp." A strange emotion clouded his eyes, but then they cleared and he looked severe again. "We can't afford to have to more mouths to feed-- especially kittypet mouths. Now," he continued, "please head home before something happens to you."

Lily narrowed her eyes suddenly looking much more dangerous then a kittypet. Lily just widened her eyes, and looked more innocent. "Prey? Who says we're here to steal prey? We're just here to look around. I'm tired of having to stare at the forest behind some electrical fence! Have you ever been stung by electricity? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS?" Lily hissed at Splitstar, even though she knew she was being mean, she was outraged that he had thought of her as a burden. Maybe the fact that she was slightly spoiled...

Splitstar sighed. "You might as well quit acting as though you're superior, all right? Out here, your knowledge of Twoleg things won't help. Just as my knowledge of forest things won't help in a Twoleg place. This almost like a different world, you two." Splitstar glanced from one to the other, hoping some of it was hitting home. "I'm not saying I'm better than you. I just wish you would understand that this is a place you know nothing about. If youwere raised in the forest..." Splitstar paused and then shrugged, "...Maybe things would have been different. I'm sorry, but can you please go?"
