Moonstar padded into her den, fur bristling from the water clinging to it. What she wanted rightnow was to share dinner with her deputy and talk. She should be coming soon with dinner, Moonstar thought silently.

Breezerider raced into Moonstar's den, with a plump rabbit. She had hoped that it would be enough.

Moonstar smiled up at her deputy. "Hello Breezerider. That rabbit looks delicious. Won't you join me?"she asked with a flick of her tail.

Breezerider nodded. She was always happy to spend time with her leader, who was her role-model from the time that Breezerider had first seen her. Breezerider set the rabbit down, and took a bite. She was hungry, and couldn't help herself.

Moonstar purred and waited until her deputy had taken a bite then leaned in and took a mouthfull. When she swallowed and looked at Breezerider thoughtfully. "I must admit Breezerider,"she confided,"I have not been a very active leader in the clan. I have been upset about my mother, Firefly's death. But, my mourning is over, and I ask you to tell me wat has been going on with the clan."

Breezerider knew how Moonstar felt. When her mate and kits had been....killed...by her brother, it took her 2 moons to get over it. "The clan is well, and there's nothing much to report. Apprentice training is doing fine, and none of the queens have had problems with kitting or anything like that." she replied, and took another bite.
